Ubar Grotto is very pleased to have no less than 3 (!) worthy Prophets vying for the position of Venerable Prophet of our Grotto. In an effort to help the members get to know these Prophets a little better, each of them has been asked five questions, the responses to which will be posted here.
Here we have a rare picture of Jack captured in the wild. He appears to be engaging a behavior common among Masons and prevalent among Past Masters – eating.
We start are tour of candidates with Prophet Jack Harley:
Age: Under 100
Place / County of Residence: Epharta, Pee Yay
Home Lodge: 665 (whew, that was close)
What skills can you offer as Venerable Prophet of Ubar Grotto? Knowing when to say “No.”
What is your favorite part of the Grotto experience? The fog, just before passing out.
What are your goals as you progress through the line, especially if you are elected to the office of Monarch? Ooh, ooh, ooh, yeah, staying alive.
From Pro. “Evil” Pete Ruggieri, regarding his candidacy for Chief Justice –
Two years ago Ubar was seeking a candidate for Venerable Prophet. My reflexes were slow. I accidentally made eye-contact and was subsequently nominated. As 2013 ended, I was once again Shanghaied into running for Master of Ceremonies. Someone said that the position comes with AYCE scrapple and they prayed on my weakness for “the other gray meat”. I somehow managed to make it through that year with only getting yelled at one time because of a horribly offensive toast. To Honor!
So, now I’m currently lucid and voluntarily running for Chief Justice. Why should you vote for me? Reason #1 – I’m running unopposed. Reason #2 I’m not George Hindson.
Pro. David Andrew Labagh is the candidate for Monarch for 2015. We asked him to share some wisdom with you, his soon to be adoring subjects…
Says David –
Who’s got two thumbs and is ready to be your next Monarch? This guy! I’ll make one promise and one promise only – I will be nothing like George Hindson. Thank you and you’re welcome. To watch my official candidate statement video, click here. Good talk. See you out there.
