The Prophets of Ubar Grotto had been planning a road trip to Samis Grotto, located in Richmond, VA, for several months. Finally the day had come. Seven Ubar Prophets set out on a trek across the hot sands of PA, Maryland, and finally Virginia, to the capital of the Confederacy. It was a warm and balmy weekend in the Old Dominion, but the Southern hospitality was even warmer.
On Saturday, July 13, 2013, members of Ubar, Azim, and Abacca Grottoes came together at the old theater that Samis Grotto calls home, all in an effort to help them initiate 12 new Prophets into the Realm. Samis Grotto had been struggling for some time, but with a little help from fellow Prophets, it is now back on track to become one of the best Grottoes in the country.
Special thanks go out to Pro. David Hinton, Monarch of Samis Grotto, and Pro. Mike Seay, who took care of our delegation while in town. The Prophets that attended had a great time and we are sure that we’ll be going back to Samis again!

The Ubar Grotto delegation to Samis Grotto. Notice that Pro. Loughin is wearing a Samis fez. Hey, at least he didn’t lose it.

Samis Grotto welcomed three District Deputies of the Supreme Council – Pro. Dennis Berry, Pro. Seth Anthony, and Pro. Victor Mann.

Samis welcomed three Monarchs. Pictured are Pro. Bob Melvin, Jr., of Abaca Grotto; Pro. David Hinton, of Samis Grotto; Pro. George Hindson, of Ubar Grotto; and Pro. Victor Mann, of Azim Grotto.
