With Ubar Grotto taking in so many new members, we find ourselves in the situation of having to hold activities for them – we guess that’s a good thing as it means they want to associate with us publicly! So, we wanted to take a moment and look at the calendar to see what Ubar is up to in the next month or so.
Sunday, February 26, 2012 – While not an Ubar event, per se, the ladies of Harrisburg Area Roller Derby will be playing the Susquehanna Valley Roller Vixens in Williamsport, PA. No definitive plans have been made to attend this event, but Ubar members are certainly welcome and appreciated. More information can be found at the SVRV site.
Tuesday, February 28, 2012 – The Prophets of Ubar Grotto have been invited to attend the meeting of Azim Grotto in the Bronx, NY. They will be meeting just off of Times Square and have promised an eventful evening, including a Ceremonial. Drop a note to the Monarch if you are interested in going!
Friday, March 9, 2012 – Ubar Grotto will be holding another smoker at a local tobacconist. Right now we are deciding if we want to have it at the Tobacco Company in Hershey or at another tobacco shop in Lancaster. Either way, the event will start at 6:30 and will cost $20 per person, payable to the establishment upon arrival. This event is BYOB. Please submit your reservation to the Monarch if you’re interested in attending.
Sunday, March 11, 2012 – A Convivial meeting of Ubar Grotto will be held at the Spring Garden Conference Center, located at 901 Spring Garden Road, Middletown, PA 17057. As this is a Convivial meeting (where your meal is paid for by the Grotto), all members are required to report to the Monarch as to whether or not they will attend. The program for the evening will be the Ceremonial of the Order.
Wednesday, March 21, 2012 – Pro. Seth Anthony, Monarch of Ubar Grotto and District Deputy of the Supreme Council, will be making his official visit to Delco Grotto in Broomall, PA. Prophet Anthony has invited the members of Ubar to attend with him that evening. Those interested can contact him directly.
Sunday, April 1, 2012 – It may be April Fools Day, but it also happens to be the night of our April Stated meeting (since we had to move it up because of the Easter Holiday.) We are expecting visitors from the Supreme Council Office in Ohio, Ben Bey Grotto in West Virginia, and Prophet Ray Suarez, our Supreme Council District Deputy. We hope everyone can come out and greet our guests! This event will be held at the Spring Garden Conference Center in Middletown and will require reservations.
