Today marks the fourth day of “Movember,” which is a month long charitable event designed to bring about further awareness of men’s health issues, specifically prostrate cancer. The key part of Movember is for men to start the month with a clean shave and to grow only a mustache until November 30th.
As Ubar Grotto is composed entirely of men, we thought it only appropriate that we should participate in this event and foster a spirit of charity and community amongst our members, all while endorsing a good cause. Our members come from a 50 mile radius and it can be hard to organize an “in person” event that they can all participate in. Movember gave us the opportunity to have all of our members participate virtually. We asked that our members take a photo of themselves on November 1, with a freshly sheared mug. They will then submit updated photos at the end of the month showing off their great new mustaches. To date, we have pictures from three of our members.
