Ubar Grotto is planning to hold its first Ceremonial on Sunday, September 11, 2011, at 6 p.m. at Flavers (or the Lucky Duck) Restaurant in Elizabethtown.
Just what is a Ceremonial? For those unfamiliar with this term, a Ceremonial is a staged production put on by the Prophets of the Grotto to welcome new members. Most Masonic organizations have something similar – whether it be called a Degree, an Order, or something else. In the case of the Grotto, the production is designed to be humorous and fun, reminding the new members of their obligation to the fraternity and to their community.
Of course, Ubar isn’t one to just do business as usual, so you can be sure that our Ceremonial will be something different and exciting for both current and new members. Our Vizier, Pro. Tom Labagh, is putting together the parts and current members will be contacted to participate.
In the mean time, we need to get some candidates for the ceremonies! We already have at least one, with several other potential new members. If you, or a friend, are interested in joining, just head over to the “I want to Join!” page and complete the process. We still have enough time to get you in for this Ceremonial, so don’t hesitate!
